A man has been indicted and will be retried for the murder of a waiter in 1998.
The Crown Office on Wednesday confirmed that Ronnie Coulter has been indicted for the murder of Surjit Singh Chhokar 17 years ago.
A panel of High Court judges gave the Crown permission to prosecute Coulter over the alleged crime in North Lanarkshire.
Ronnie Coulter, 46, will now stand trial at the High Court for murdering Mr Chokkar in Overtown, in 1998.
A preliminary hearing has been set for the High Court in Glasgow on February 24.
A statement from the Crown read: “Ronnie Coulter was today indicted for the murder of Surjit Singh Chhokar in North Lanarkshire in 1998.
